Central-European Grid Consortium
Central-European Grid Consortium (CEGC) is an open consortium body consisting of all CE Federation countries. CEGC was established on 10 th January 2003 in Bratislava, Slovakia on the first Meeting of the representatives of 6 Partner countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia. Croatia joined CEGC on 5 th December 2005 in Budapest, Hungary. All partner countries have equal rights in the consortium and a one-vote/country system is applied in any decision procedure.
CEGC consists of two bodies:
- Executive Council – the major decision board of CEGC
- Technical Board – board responsible for technical implementation of strategies decided by the Executive Council.
In both bodies decisions are taken by simple majority votes. In case of equal votes, the vote of the chair is decisive.
Executive Council
Executive Council consists of six members delegated from each partner country. The Council has a regular meeting at every three months.
The CEGC Council Chair represents the common interests of CEGC partners in the appropriate board of international projects where CEGC is jointly represented. The CEGC can decide to be represented as an entity in any international project if all the members of the Council unanimously vote for it. Any new issue concerning CEGC and addressed in such board meetings should be reported to the CEGC Council and discussed by the CEGC Council. The decision of the CEGC Council will authorize the CEGC Council Chair to represent this decision in such boards.
The chair position is rotated among the partner countries. The time period of chairing the CEGC Council is half year. The leaving chair automatically becomes the vice-chair for the next period. The acting chair can delegate representation of CEGC to the vice-chair under any conditions. If neither the chair nor the vice-chair can represent CEGC, the chair can delegate this duty to another member of the Executive Council.
Technical Board
Technical Board consists of up to three members delegated from each partner country.
The chair position of the CEGC Technical Board is rotated among the partner countries. The time period of chairing the CEGC Technical Board is half year. The leaving chair automatically becomes the vice-chair for the next period.
The CEGC Technical Board has a regular meeting at every three months. Experts can be invited to any meeting but they have no votes. In case of voting every member country can give only one vote.
